Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Glasgow

£35000 - £48000 per annum + Pension, flexible working.

FPSG are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for their industry leading client based in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. With over a 100 years of history the business is currently going through a period of organic growth and with further plans for the future this is an excellent time to join. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will become a critical part of the IT team, ensuring all operational services are running seamlessly by being the point of escalation (3rd Line) for the team below.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain Microsoft Windows Domain-based networks including Group Policies, Login Scripts and all application servers.

  • Responsible for the build of physical and virtual servers.

  • Disaster Recovery and Workplace Recovery Tests

  • Work in partnership with 3rd party service providers to deliver services to broader business teams.

  • Positively contribute to the success of ongoing Infrastructure related projects as part of the broader IT strategy

To be Successful in the role of Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will have experience:

  • Microsoft Windows operating system administration (Server 2008 R2 onwards, Windows 7 Desktops), including Active Directory and Group Policies

  • TCP/IP, Ethernet networking and network security

  • Experience with Switching and Routing

  • Clear Communicator to all levels of business

  • Communicate to all levels in the organisation the progress of project tasks.

  • Identify and implement continual improvements within the infrastructure, processes and systems.

  • Pro-actively manage issues and take ownership of problems & resolutions

  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and develop new skills, keen analytical and troubleshooting skills.
