Seeking a technically adept Software Release and Configuration Manager, who is not afraid to get close to the code, can demonstrate deep understanding of development and production environments, and can champion Agile / Scrum techniques and Continuous Improvement and Efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination alongside the Tech Hub group with a focus on shaping & managing the pipeline of technology changes, i.e. releases, within multiple pipelines
  • Manage and guide the transition of the Release Process from development to production using tools such as ClickUp and AWS
  • Engaging with product teams from a release management perspective at all stages of lifecycle
  • Organising and co-ordinating the implementation of releases including overseeing virtual team
  • Driving CI to increase efficiency and effectiveness of release delivery
  • Engaging with product owners, project managers, development teams and business users in order to encourage earlier and continuous release planning
  • Perform detailed implementation planning taking into account: risks; internal and external dependencies; resources; adherence to control
  • Contribute to continued Agile adoption, as an Agile practitioner, supporting/providing the role of Scrum master
  • Delivering regular, high quality releases into Production following the Agile process, comply with IS policies and best practices

To be successful in the post, your experience will include:

Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of Software Release and Configuration Management, this is not a vanilla Change or Release role, often populated by Project Managers, there is a requirement to be close to the code with detailed understanding of the development and production environment.

  • A recent hands on track record of proven Release, Development and Technical PM experience
  • In-depth understanding of Agile practices (Certified Scrum master, Scrum Practitioner)
  • Strong technical background and fluent in technical communications (exposure to React, Oracle, AWS highly prized)
  • Knowledge of end-to-end software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrable track record in a delivery-focused role
  • Handling diverse and conflicting pressures in a calm robust manner
  • Use of standard release management tools, particularly ClickUp and AWS
  • Team Leading of both physical and virtual teams
  • Able to work in regulated / controlled environment
