Our client, a high-growth Scottish technology company who believe that technology is here to help people to live happier, safer and healthier lives are looking for and R&D Engineer to join their team, based in Stirling with flexible working possible.

This is an R&D position with a broad remit and requires the individual to be capable of understanding all aspects of sensor systems including related electronics/mechanics.

As an R&D Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Devise and recommend new sensor system solutions for applications
  • Perform detailed research into design and application of new sensors/sensor systems
  • Specify electronic, mechanical and software requirements for sensor systems
  • Experimental testing of prototype systems and reporting results
  • Writing software to drive, investigate and integrate sensor systems

We are looking for an R&D Engineer who has the following skills/experience:

  • Background in sensor physics with a wide knowledge of potential physical limitations
  • Understand constraints on complex mathematical algorithms
  • Scientific and systems analysis of sensors, sensor systems and their capabilities
  • Knowledge of microfluidics
  • Electronics Hardware fault finding and investigations
  • Software skills - Matlab/Python, good to have C but not essential
