FPSG have a wonderful opportunity for an IT Desktop Support Technician to come and hit the ground running with an outstanding organisation who continue to expand their UK operation near Hoddesdon, whilst working with their global colleagues.

This role could be perfect for an ambitious IT Desktop Support Technician, and someone who has gained experience in similar roles who is available to join ASAP on a permanent, full-time contract.

The Role:

To assist and support the Senior IT Desktop Support Technician in providing a professional support service for the Hertfordshire site.

Responsibilities:

Assist and support the Senior IT Desktop Support Technician in:

The installation and maintenance of computer hardware, operating systems, software, networking equipment, firewalls, printers, copiers, scanners and applications within established guidelines and standards.

Provision of support to all internal customers, directly or via telephone, email or remote control.

User account management, provision of access rights and file/folder permissions.

Support roll-out of new applications.

Test and evaluate new technology.

Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions on hardware or software incidents including operating systems and across a range of software applications and peripheral devices.

Undertake repairs, replacing faulty parts as required and within capability, and keep a log and report all incidents and remedial actions taken to resolve issues.

Train users in the proper use of hardware and software to enable users to become more self- sufficient.

Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software and other resources.

Ensure electronic records are appropriately archived.

Ensure that critical business data is regularly backed up.

Monitor ongoing security associated with all relevant technologies.

Be willing to visit and work at other UK sites as and when required.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail and for all work to be conducted strictly in accordance with company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

Work efficiently and tidily such that work is carried out in a well-planned and organised way and timely manner.

Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.

Comply with any applicable GxP regulatory requirements whenever appropriate to the work being undertaken.

Ensure that Personal Training File is up to date at all times.

Ensure that any operating practice or instrument defect, which may affect safety at work, is brought to the attention of Management.
