Senior / Lead Software Engineer / Python / Java / C++ / C# / Ruby on Rails / PHP / Home-Working

Role Responsibilities

This role will involve:

• Defining patterns and operational guidelines
• Working with key stakeholders effectively to make well-reasoned design and technical decisions
• Driving discussion around complex technical issues
• Providing guidance to teams on effectively breaking down tasks and estimating
• Providing insightful and comprehensive code reviews
• Co-ordinating teams to come together to solve larger issues
• Sharing knowledge of software architecture and development techniques as well as delegation and coaching

Person Specification

Essential skills will include:

• A passion for software development, learning and continuous improvement - this is core to the role and indeed the company - any language will be considered - but you really do need to be passionate about what you do - Python / Java / C++ / C# / Ruby on Rails / PHP
• Good leadership skills and interpersonal skills - you will need to help more junior members of the team
• A go-to expert in at least one area of software development and a strategic mind-set.
• Ability to understand a customer's strategic/business drivers of projects communicate this effectively to teams and colleagues.
• Experience in a similar role with another product or software solutions business
