Senior Scientist - Immunology

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Scientist with expertise in immunology to join our dynamic research team in Oxford.
Position Overview: As a Senior Scientist in Immunology, you will be a key leader in our research efforts to advance novel therapeutic approaches for immune-related diseases. You will drive the design and execution of preclinical studies, lead scientific investigations, and contribute to the development of new drug candidates. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects and make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee research projects focused on understanding immune mechanisms underlying disease pathogenesis.
- Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and mechanism of action of immunotherapeutic agents.
- Develop and optimize cell-based assays, flow cytometry panels, and other techniques to characterize immune cell populations and functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including bioinformatics, medicinal chemistry, and translational research to advance drug discovery programs.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare scientific reports, and present findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in immunology research, contribute to scientific publications, and represent the company at conferences and symposia.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Immunobiology, Molecular Biology, or related field with a strong publication record.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in immunology research, preferably in a biopharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
- Expertise in cellular and molecular immunology techniques, including cell culture, primary cell isolation, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, and cytokine assays.
- Proven track record of designing and executing preclinical studies, with experience in animal models of immune-mediated diseases.
- Strong knowledge of immune checkpoint pathways, cytokine signaling, and immunotherapeutic modalities.
- Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, high-dimensional data analysis, or single-cell technologies is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and mentor junior scientists in a collaborative environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly and concisely.
