We were excited to hear that our building management company CBRE and our landlord Picton Property are working in partnership with Plan Bee Ltd @planbeeltd and have adopted two beehives. They are installed on our roof space and on Wednesday we were given the opportunity to learn more about this #sustainability project and meet the bees!

The bee keepers from Plan Bee were on hand to tell us what they hope to achieve with this initiative and to answer our many questions. Fully kitted out in bee suits, we were able to get up close and personal with the 10,000 ish bees currently in the hives (during Spring/Summer there can be as many as 50,000!). We are hoping that next year there will be enough honey for us all to try.

We learned about the decline of the bee population and what we can do to try and encourage bees in to our gardens and public spaces. We also discussed how the #honey you buy off the supermarket shelf is a world away from ‘rooftop honey’ both in terms of taste and health benefits.

Plan Bee are able to help organisations enhance their sustainable responsibilities and improve their #green credentials through their fully managed beehive service.

We are delighted to be a small part of this initiative and can only encourage other businesses to consider the benefits to them and to the UK bee population.

The only thing left for us to do is Adopt a Bee!
