So it was that time of year again, when our offices got together for our annual team building event.

The event was shrouded in mystery, with only a select few knowing the location and activity.  Over breakfast in our Edinburgh office the guesses ranged from escape rooms to military fitness training but no one quite had in mind…Outdoor Lasertag at @BedlamPaintball.

When we pulled up to the venue there was a mixed response; past experiences of paintball had clearly left mental scars! But once the teams were formed and Lasertag explained, the talk turned to tactics and everyone was fully committed – helped along no doubt by demonstrations of the smoke bombs and bangers that were available to purchase.

The next 2 hours were, frankly, hilarious. Staged over 5 different areas, we hid, shot, fell around, won, lost, laughed – a lot and…at the end…Team Daha emerged victorious…

A quick change of clothes and we headed back in to the city centre for lunch at @Wahaca in Edinburgh.

Fun team building events like this are an excellent way to encourage cohesion in an organisation, particularly where separate offices are involved. Social relationships are strengthened and barriers come down, which inevitably spills over into the working relationship as well.
