Supply Chain Manager

Location: North West

Salary: Competitive, including excellent benefits

Our client is a public sector body based in the North West but covering all the UK across the public domain in buying goods and services

Our client is now looking to recruit a Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for establishing an leading on a supply chain strategy on behalf of the public sector body whilst co-ordinating the company wide SRM programme

Accountabilities for the role include:

  • Liaising with Group Supply Chain Leads to align supplier relationship programmes across the group for collective benefit

  • Ensuring that the supply chain strategy for the public sector body aligns with Government Operating Standards

  • Ensuring that the category teams within the body have identified critical and/or strategic suppliers and have systems and processes in place to develop suitable plans for risk mitigation and business continuity

  • Ensuring the public body understand the SRM programme and are appropriately informed for their interactions with the supply base

  • Ensuring that systems used by the body understand and monitor the financial health of suppliers

The successful candidate will have:

  • Full MCIPS qualification or working towards MCIPS

  • Solid and proven experience in supply chain management in a complex organisation preferably from the Public Sector and/or a regulated sector

  • An analytical mind-set, with proven experience in negotiation, coupled with experience of building senior-level stakeholder relationships.
