Service Designers - Public Sector - Remote / Scotland

We are delighted to be able to offer a whole host of Service Designer opportunities for you to get involved on a mid to long-term basis in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, working on-site and remotely where required with our Clients. To support this growth and delivery, interviews are now being held to secure the best Service Designer talent on the market for these roles based in Scotland.
Role Responsibilities & Person Specification
Experience of working with cross-functional teams and solving complex experience and service design challenges.
Experienced in the design thinking process, working out what people want and need, and how to make it happen and involving service users in the design process whenever possible.
Excellent people skills to influence, question, coach, and facilitate stakeholders, service users and citizens, designers, researchers, and cross-functional teams through the journey of digital service transformation. Embedding design thinking processes and tools in projects to create a deeply people-centred way of working.
Plan and conduct service design projects from working with user research colleagues to understanding user needs and goals to co-design and collaborative sense-making sessions with users, service staff and other stakeholders through to delivery of service insights, prototypes, and maps.
Develop and use a range of service design tools and approaches to help represent and communicate service patterns and solutions.
Embed design thinking within teams by providing guidance on existing methods and tools, and creating new tools to help teams work with and not for users.
Ensure that participating in service design engagements is inclusive and accessible for the full diversity of both service users and team members, including developing bespoke methods and tools as necessary.
Responsible for ensuring that service design is undertaken with and not just for users.
Ensure that all engagements with service users and other stakeholders meet the Clients high ethical standards.
Promote a culture of continuous delivery and improvement, ensuring that key tools, methods and processes are regularly reviewed, maintained and improved.
Explain, and be a persuasive advocate for, the value of service design for public services.
In return you will be rewarded you with a permanent, or pro-rated (likely 6 month initial) FTC salary and package commensurate with your experience. A bonus and reward model will also be in place which is exciting and will be related to performance and achievements.
