Senior Software Engineer Fully Remote

£40000 - £60000 per annum + FLEXIBLE

This is a fully remote, UK based role, for an experienced Software Engineer familiar with developing products and services using cloud-based architecture. Are you looking for a fresh challenge as a Senior Software Engineer? Or perhaps you feel you have already reached Senior Software Engineer level and aspire to be a Lead Software Engineer? Either is fine, as FPSG's Client is less focused on job titles and more about hiring the right, passionate Engineer for both you and the company to get the best from one another in the cloud-based environments you will work in.

What to expect in the Technical environment:

* Developing applications and services that maximise the use of cloud-native technologies and services within a public cloud such as Azure, AWS, GCP

* Building RESTful API services and experiences for developers

* Working with server-side frameworks such as .NET core, C#, ASP.NET MVC and Razor Pages

* Documenting your code via unit and integration tests

* Implementing and supporting pub/sub and other event-driven architectural components within a product or service

Other Technical experience you may already have / can look forward to working with:

* High volume data ingestion using event streaming services such as Azure Event hubs or Kafka streams

* Knowledge and hands on experience writing or maintenance infrastructure as code templates for the Azure cloud platform, ideally using ARM or Bicep.

* Experience with serverless workloads using e.g. Azure Functions, AWS Lambdas

* Experience as a consumer or provider of identity solutions based on OIDC and OAuth 2.0

* Experience implementing monitoring and telemetry within large scale, distributed applications

* Knowledge and hands on experience writing or maintenance infrastructure as code templates that deploy solutions to a public cloud, e.g. ARM/Bicep, Terraform or Pulumi

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

* Creating technical architecture and feature specifications based on platform and service requirements working with product stakeholders

* Work within Azure DevOps

* participating in agile work management approaches,

* managing of source control using git

* create and manage CI/CD pipelines for your solutions

* Implementing solutions using .NET Core tools and frameworks

* Participating in 2nd and 3rd line support for platform components and services

* Writing high quality maintainable code that aligns with platform goals and delivery schedules

* Building integrations with 3rd party services

* Debugging and diagnosing complex issues with distributed production applications

* Writing automated unit and integration tests to be executed within the continuous build and

deployment pipelines

* Contributing to the future platform technology roadmap

* Providing constructive critique and peer reviews to others

Within the role:

You will work alongside product, support and testing teams to design, build and document software components that evolve the core platform API's and services of the company. The purpose of the platform is to support various development teams across their core specialist market, allowing them to implement and deploy services, which in turn supports both the customer and the end users manage relationships effectively, confidentially and without physical meetings being required.

You will get encouragement to play a key role in the specification, design and implementation of exciting new components, as well as identifying opportunities to enhance and improve existing functionality.

Working alongside engineering leads and product managers you will be pivotal in turning feature requests and concepts into well tested, functioning platform features.
