FPSG are working on a Senior Network and Security Engineer role, operating at a CCNP level you will be given the opportunity to hold responsibility for the continuous operation and performance of an enterprise network. Providing leadership and oversight on problem determination and problem resolution within the data network the role is a blend of hands on and design giving the successful candidate the chance to steer their career to architect level and beyond.

The client are a Global leader in their field, with offices in Glasgow, Europe, US and more so you will be comfortable responding to issues remotely and working in a globally spread team. The primary responsibilities will include supporting the build and design of the international data centres, including all the necessary security toolsets and engineering to ensure their proper configuration and design.

As a Senior Network and Security Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • 3rd Line support for network security systems and infrastructure.

  • Providing leadership during firewall and VPN problem determination efforts.

  • Planning and vendor oversight for firewall and VPN changes.

  • Driving improvements and procedures that will improve overall Security Service Delivery to the customer.

  • Ensuring uniformity of security service delivery and attainment of all business and customer objectives.

  • Improving processes to improve firewall and VPN service reliability and availability.

  • Periodic performance reports for review with management providing input on improvements and quality initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience with a large network

  • Minimum CCNA or other relevant certification such as Fortinet and Palo Alto.

  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco ASA appliances, Cisco FWSM modules, and Cisco routers.

  • Demonstrated experience with Fortigate/Palo Alto firewalls

  • Experience with configuration and support of IPSEC VPN site-to-site tunnels.

  • Experience with configuration and support of client-to-site VPN tunnels.

  • Security protocols and implementations including NAT and ACLs

  • Cisco: LAN switching and router technologies, wireless technology, VoIP technology

  • Crisis management and root cause analysis techniques.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
