Junior Project Manager - Open Banking - FinTech

Edinburgh (post covid in office 2 or days a week)



FPSG are currently recruiting for a growing FinTech company who are expanding their Project Management function. They require a candidate who has started building a track record in Technical Project Manager who can demonstrate managing internal and external Development and Implementation Projects and have a desire to build this understanding.

Preference will be given to candidates with strong Agile understanding and who can demonstrate the leadership, coordination and dependency management skills required to get a technical development project across the line. This is a truly unique opportunity to fast-track your career.

As the Project Manager Responsibilities will include:

  • Prioritisation tasks, allocation of resources and ensure this is done in co-ordination with Internal & End Customer stakeholders)
  • Monitor and control of performance, cost, scope, schedule and quality.
  • Creating project plans & resource planning.
  • Control on project deliverables, risks, etc and the mitigation of these.
  • Responsibility for coordinating an accurate technical specification for the delivered projects.
  • Communicate and manage change requests to stakeholders, provide support throughout lifecycle.
  • Maintain register of actions, issues, risks and report on progress on a weekly basis.
  • Liaise regularly with quality, development and other stakeholders to ensure compliance

To be successful in the post, your experience will include:

  • A track record taking ownership of projects, showing the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Experience with Software systems Integrations and dealing with vendors and partners.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing and setting expectations
  • Involvement in Agile lead Projects
  • Achieving or working towards Agile / Prince 2 certification or equivalent.

Desirable skills and opportunities for cross-training include:

  • Exposure to Cloud (AWS) Solutions
  • Exposure to Data tools such as Oracle, Data Warehousing, PL/SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, documentDB
  • Exposure to and understanding of Open banking / PSD2

Our client are looking for a junior Project Manager already exposed to the dynamic and ever changing needs of the FinTech arena. Preference will be given to candidates who have shown they can take ownership for small projects and are capable and willing to progress; who get involved at all levels from requirements gathering to process definition; who are prepared to take ownership rather than seek to delegate key tasks. You will have already delivered projects or possibly deputised in the PM role, having come from a Business Analyst, PMO, Lead Analyst capacity.
