Procurement Consultant

Our client are a very successful Management Consultancy with a worldwide pedigree of innovative and solution based project management across a portfolio including Rail, Construction, and Transport. They are now looking to recruit a Procurement Consultant- Construction.
The immediate role will be predominantly based from either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office where you will work extensively with clients and their respective supply chains. The individual will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team delivering best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services to one of our key account clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • To assist with specialist procurement strategy to public and private sector clients.

  • Support the development of the procurement services provided by our client

  • To support business development and marketing of the company

  • To support the delivery of both team and wider business targets. In particular we are looking for an individual who has been exposed but not necessarily an expert in the following: Procurement strategy, Contract Management, OJEU Procurement, Supply chain intelligence, Contract development, Supplier evaluation strategies Contract terms, negotiation and award

To be successful in this very demanding position you will have:

  • A degree related to Quantity Surveying, Law or Procurement and/or be MCIPS qualified

  • Experience of various forms of contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT.

  • Confident, independent and able to work autonomously without need for supervision.

  • Be able to manage work/business development/career development activities.

  • Excellent communication skills, with excellent negotiation skills coupled with an adaptable determination to succeed.
