Office 365 and Comms Administrator

FPSG's Client have an immediate need for an experienced MS Office 365 and Comms Administrator to join their business ASAP, in order to proactively build, implement, and operate services to enable reliable business capabilities based on the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The role will also be responsible for assisting with the administration and maintenance of the on-premise Windows Server / Active Directory-based environment alongside the VMWare-based virtual hosting platform.

Further details around the role and your responsibilities are as follows:

  • Own the design and implementation of Microsoft and related Cloud technology solutions utilizing Microsoft 365, Azure AD, MS Teams, and others.

  • Responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, administration, security, maintenance and support of the company's Microsoft 365 tenant.

  • Lead sophisticated troubleshooting and incident resolution events

  • Build and develop solutions for system administration, automating tasks, monitoring, and usage reporting.

  • Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement solutions to business needs.

  • Implement system security requirements defined under Information Security standards.

  • Update, prepare and detail standard operating procedures and protocols.

  • Supervise, and administer security measures for the protection of cloud systems.

  • Administration of Microsoft Windows Servers (O/S 2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019)

  • Administration of VMWare Virtualization technology

  • Active Directory integrated applications (includes single sign-on)

Experience requested:

  • Solid, hands-on experience in Windows / Active Directory environments

  • Previous hands-on experience in a complex architectural environment

  • Experience in Windows Server / Active Directory, and related services

  • Proven experience in leading and running multiple IT projects using formal methodologies such as SDLC, including familiarity with project management tools and techniques

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure decisions, priorities and relevant project information is shared across appropriate levels of staff regarding service requests, projects and initiatives

  • Experience with managing and supervising staff and the third-party vendor resources to ensure high standards of work quality and productivity in accordance with current company policies, procedures and regulations

  • Familiar with IT Service Management process and tool

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge on SCCM and WSUS, for both servers and desktops

  • Basic infrastructure knowledge in Backup/Storage, Network, Terminal Server Services

  • Proficient in analysing and troubleshooting problems; identifying solutions; and recommending and implementing methods, procedures and techniques for resolution and elimination of root cause

  • Active Directory integrated applications (includes single sign-on)


Contractor Day Rates, (or if preferred), permanent salaries will be discussed with suitable applicants. Given the urgency, the rate will be competitive and the start date will be ASAP based around practicalities of interview and flexibility shown to accommodate diaries.
