FPSG are delighted to be offering some NEW excellent career opportunities for Web Developers to be based remotely from anywhere in the UK, with options to be based in offices in the beautiful Region of Cumbria in due course if you wish. The skills we are looking to hire will come from Web Developers who consider themselves to be adaptable to working in a range of different technologies, both client and server-side; such as NodeJS, Vue.js, Postgres, MySQL, JavaScript, JSON and XML. Experience working in Agile Scrum would also be useful to have, however, this is by no means essential.

What to expect in the role of a Web Designer. You will typically be:

  • Maintaining and developing from existing code-base.

  • Attending daily Agile Scrum Ceremonies.

  • Collaborating with members of your Team to deliver functional, iterative application development.

  • Spending a lot of your time developing cutting-edge applications.

  • Showing innovation with new technologies, programming languages and infrastructure.

  • Version managing and unit testing throughout the development process.

  • Working closely with all parties internally and externally.

We are not expecting you to also have the following skills, however, it will be useful if you have some and more importantly want to work with them:

  • Experience developing in JavaScript/Node.JS, HTML, CSS and frameworks such as Vue.JS and React.

  • Versatile full-stack web development experience.

  • Postgres, MySQL or similar database programming experience.

  • Ability to create and consume data from a wide range of sources including database, XML and JSON.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems and pipelines.

  • Experience with Agile project delivery methodologies.

  • Knowledge of Docker.

  • Working with third-party APIs or creating public facing & internal APIs from scratch.

  • An eagerness to learn and adapt to new emerging languages.

  • Code commenting, formatting, testing and documenting.

  • Ability to manage your own code through tools such as Git or SVN.

  • Working knowledge of application security.
