Defect Manager and QA Improvement Analyst Contract


FPSG's Client have an initial 3 month day-rate contract requirement for a Defect Manager and QA continuous Improvements Analyst to work in a newly formed Testing Practice within a complex programme of change. Based primarily from Edinburgh offices, the main activities you will be responsible for are as follows:

Agree and document the defect management process and ensure that defects are being raised with adequate information, categorised correctly and progressed through to closure. This is across a number of service streams.

We need you to be a champion for Continuous Improvement in QA, working with the Service Delivery teams, Testing Practice, Business Analysts, and DevOps to capture lessons learned and agree enhancements that will drive an improvements roadmap.

You will run the Testing Practice Forum and inspire participation, enthusiasm and collaboration to realise efficiencies and improvements, as well as ensure that testing processes are documented, up-to-date and accessible.

Part of your responsibilities will be to devise standards for, and roll-out use of the new test management tool for test traceability, providing support to ensure consistent usage across the teams.

Previous experience in a Defect Manager role.

Extensive experience working as a Tester in an Agile Development environment, with thorough knowledge of the Agile testing methodology and ceremonies.

Thorough knowledge of Testing types, Testing processes, procedures and associated governance.

Experience of JIRA, Confluence, QA Symphony (or similar).

A genuine passion for Continuous Improvement.

Excellent English oral and written communication and inter-personal skills are vital.

The ability to influence change and inspire enthusiasm.
