Q&A with Allana Logan

Q&A with Allana Logan

Allana Logan joined FPSG at the start of June 2021 to begin her rjourmey as a Recruitment Consultant. We sat down with Allana and got an insight to how her first month in Recruitment has been.

How’s your first month been?

My first month with FPSG has been both challenging and very rewarding. I have had the opportunity to gain more knowledge about the Scottish Legal Sector and I have really enjoyed getting to know my new colleagues and making many meaningful connections in the sector.

What was your background before entering recruitment?

I came from a sales background which allowed me to learn the importance of relationship management and exceptional customer service. I am now able to transfer and adapt my existing skills and apply them to my new role as a Consultant.

What has the first month entailed?

My first month has been very busy. I have spent my first month learning as much as possible and developing a deeper knowledge about the sector.  I have introduced myself to candidates and began building my own relationships with Clients which was something I was really looking forward to.

My first month has also consisted of me asking my colleagues a lot of questions (sorry!) and finding out more about their journeys in recruitment which I have found very interesting as everyone’s background is completely different.

Why legal recruitment?

I have always had an interest in Law but was unsure on what I wanted to do with this interest. Legal Recruitment allows me to work with the legal sector by speaking to clients and candidates every day and constantly staying up to speed with any legal developments and shakes within the industry. Legal recruitment also allows me to deliver a great service to our clients and candidates which I am very passionate about.

How have you found starting in the midst of a pandemic?

I used a lot of time during the pandemic to really reflect on my career and what my aspirations for the future were and found myself thinking, ‘‘What’s next, Allana?’’. I feel incredibly lucky to have been given this opportunity especially in very uncertain times.

Although times are trying, I do feel I have begun my new career at a great point as the market is so busy. The market is definitely challenging just now and this has kept me on my toes which I have really enjoyed. The difficult times and the demand of the market is something that Clients, Candidates and I can all relate to and I feel this has really helped in building meaningful, genuine relationships.

What are you looking forward to in the next 6 months?

In the next 6 months, I am really looking forward to seeing how I progress in my new career.

I am excited to not only maintain the existing relationships I have built with candidates but also continue building new relationships with great candidates too.

I am looking forward to being introduced to more clients and begin looking at business development and this is something I also have real interest in.

I am also very excited to begin more face to face interactions as this is something that initially attracted me to a career in recruitment but unfortunately is not always possible at present due to current circumstances.

The next 6 months I am sure will be full of successes and challenges and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me in Legal recruitment! If anyone would like to get in touch my deatils are alogan@fpsg.com or they can call me on 0141 270 5132.
