Associate Director - Contract Services

Our client is a leading provider of procurement and contract strategy, claims management and dispute resolution services to the built environment sectors. Using their skills, processes and knowledge they provide industry leading services to a marketing leading client base. Our client are working on many iconic and significant projects in the UK and globally on commissions where they are approached to provide claims support in quantum, delay and project management together with expert dispute services.

As part of their expansion and due to a significant pipeline of work, they are seeking to recruit an exceptional individual in Bristol to drive their services in Contract Development, Contract Management and Dispute Resolution Services across the region.

With strong experience in a consultancy or contractor organisation, you will have seasoned knowledge in contract assurance, claims management, dispute avoidance and/or dispute resolution within the built environment sectors. With a 'can do' attitude and commercially astute you will be driven, results oriented and a natural business developer with the ability to provide best in class claims and dispute management advice for our clients.

Our client are seeking individuals from a quantity surveying, commercial management, project management, engineering and/or legal background, to work with a growing team of Subject Matter Experts in the region and aid the growth of our high performing Contract Services division. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • develop and grow a local business unit

  • work with an outstanding team of specialist consultants

  • advise a range of clients on a number of different and challenging projects

  • develop and drive business relationships with an existing client base

  • Demonstrate a level of support in adjudication and/or litigation processes

  • Strong commercial management experience on major projects

  • Contract Management - A good understanding of NEC and JCT contracts and the relevant processes and procedures

  • Strong contract administration experience

  • Confident in a client facing environment, with good presentational skills and natural gravitas

  • Capable of conducting detailed project reviews on major projects, with support from the wider team

  • Strong knowledge of performance forensics, whether from a quantum or delay background

  • Experience in a variety of construction sectors and project type

  • A sound understanding of national construction contracts and the relevant processes and procedures

  • Application of robust and methodical analytical skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery under a number of challenging scenarios

  • Confident in approach, with the ability to lead the claims process in your own right

  • Experience of providing consultancy services on live contracts and projects in distress an advantage

  • A natural in business development, both internally and externally

  • Able to prepare and support on major bid proposals

  • Quantity surveying, civil engineering or construction management degree

  • MSc Construction Law or similar an advantage

  • MCIArb; MRICS or FRICS chartered a significant advantage
