Assistant Senior Procurement Officer
£29500 - £33500 per annum
Our client are a leading University based in Lancashire. They are now looking to expand their Procurement team by recruiting an Assistant Senior Procurement Officer. The role will report into the Head of Procurement. The job will entail Procuring and Contract Management across works, goods and services.
Your key responsibilities will include:-
Procurement and contract management in accordance with current legislation and in line with the Purchasing Policy, Purchasing Procedures and EU Regulations including; liaison with stakeholders, offering advise on best procurement route, obtaining tenders/quotations, leading site visits, utilising the e-tendering system In-tend and providing detailed cost analysis, evaluation and recommendations via spreadsheets.
Providing members of University Staff with information on the Purchasing Policy, Purchasing Procedures and EU Regulations and advice on appropriate procurement methods
Liaison with external suppliers to place University business in accordance with internal requests which comply with Financial Regulations
Represent the Procurement function of the University on the North West University's Purchasing Consortium tender working parties.
Liaison with internal staff and external organisations to resolve queries and provide assistance.
To support the Head of Procurement in achieving the objectives within the Sustainable Development Plan and the Sustainable Procurement Policy, alongside any other sustainable procurement requirements which may occur.
Using the Agresso Financial System detail contract expenditure and monitor compliance to both internal and external procurement guidelines.
To be an ideal candidate for this new role you will have:-
Experience relating to procurement of works, goods and services.
Good working knowledge of contract law and EU procurement regulations.
Experience of sustainable procurement
MCIPS part qualified.
GSCE Maths and English at grade C or above or equivalent qualification.
Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under pressure of heavy workload with conflicting deadlines.
Good professional image in both personal presentation and communication.
