Are you an experience Anti Money Laundering (AML) professional keen to gain a unique challenging and rewarding role? A position has become available with our innovative Fintech client initially for 6 months with the potential to extend beyond this period.

The organisation are looking for an AML Consultant on a six-month contract to assess the needs of the company around AML policy, update the policy and implement it.

In that sense, the AML Consultant will be identifying 'gaps' the need to be compliant, and planning and implementing solutions to plug those 'gaps'.

The AML Consultant will then map out how it will affect multiple business processes, for example customer onboarding, on-going due diligence, and transaction monitoring. They will then provide guidance and training to other relevant teams and individuals.

The Consultant will also set up AML breach procedures, and processes for reporting and liaising with regulator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Update the current AML policy ensuring an updated risk assessment is accounted for
  • Review of AML processes and how it will affect customer onboarding, on-going due diligence, transactions monitoring, sanctions screening, documentation of DD etc.
  • Create list of gaps that need to be closed to be compliant and provide a plan of action to close said gaps
  • Review AML training and set-up (currently using an external provider), and support implementation of training of all relevant staff
  • Support building internal competency by involving relevant staff in all AML activities
  • Set up AML breach process and process for reporting/liaising with regulators

The Successful candidate must have:-

  • 3+ years previous AML experience at a well renowned accountancy firm, bank or financial institution.
  • Experience of working in Financial Technology is highly advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, with 2/3+ years of practical experience of using Excel for building and maintaining financial models.
  • Proficiency with analytical and presentation tools - Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, Tableau, PowerPoint (not all are required).
  • A natural curiosity and a "big picture" mentality,
  • Excellent spoken and written communication.
  • A team-orientated mentality.
