Introduction
A fantastic opportunity has become available with FPSG's prestigious client. The role will be within a large global outsourcing company, within their compliance team. As a Data Protection Officer you will be expected to report to the Senior Director of Legal Affairs.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the systems and controls are in place to allow each country within the Region are compliant with data protection and legislation.

Role Responsibilities
Within this role you will be expected to:

  • Be the centre point of all data protection activity
  • Advance and manage data protection strategies
  • Make sure the Region's entry on the Register of data controllers which is held by the UK Information Commissioner's Office is kept up to date
  • To execute systems and controls to allow compliance with data protection legislation and regulation
  • Pay attention to and prepare for the implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation
  • Undertake data protection audits
  • Liaise with clients
  • Train staff
  • Update data processing agreements
  • Undertake risk assessments
  • Manage a central register of data security supports
  • Consult and advise on the utilisation of data processors
  • Instruct on client contracts
  • Advise on data leaving the EU
  • Maintain and develop an internal system to report on data breaches
  • Keep on top of changes in regards to regulation and data protection acts

Person Specification
To be considered for this opportunity, you will require the following experience/background:

  • Previous experience working in compliance or with responsibilities relating to compliance
  • An in depth knowledge of the legislative framework which supports data protection within the UK and Europe
  • Project Management
  • Experience in Policy writing
  • Fantastic attention to detail

Reward
